Quick verdict

Drift and 1mind should not be treated as two interchangeable versions of the same chat widget. Drift is the legacy conversational marketing product that Clari + Salesloft is retiring on January 31, 2027. 1mind is the AI sales agent partner named by Clari + Salesloft as the successor for Drift chatbot functionality. The choice is therefore less about which product to buy new and more about how to move an existing workflow before its access deadline.

If your team is already on Drift and wants to follow the vendor's recommended path, evaluate 1mind first. If your use case was mainly live chat or lead routing, compare it with simpler options in the Drift alternatives guide before assuming an enterprise AI sales agent is the right fit.

What Drift was designed to do

Drift used website chat and playbooks to engage visitors in the moment. Its official Chat Playbooks guide, checked October 30, 2026, describes experiences such as a pricing-page playbook, a welcome message, target-account engagement, visitor retargeting, email capture and meeting-oriented conversations. Teams could combine these paths with routing and CRM workflows.

That model works best when the business has clear rules for which visitor should see which message, what counts as a qualified lead, and who should receive the handoff. A replacement project should capture those rules before the old account is retired. Do not assume the replacement only needs to copy the visible text in the chat window.

What 1mind changes

1mind positions its product around AI sales agents, called Superhumans, that can engage buyers, answer questions, qualify interest and help move a buyer toward a next step. The official 1mind site, checked October 30, 2026, describes the product and its sales-agent approach. The official Clari + Salesloft partnership announcement, checked October 30, 2026, says buyer-engagement signals from 1mind can feed into Salesloft workflows and Clari forecasting.

This is a change in the way the conversation is positioned, not proof that every Drift feature is available in the same form. Before selecting 1mind, ask for a demo built around your actual website paths and CRM records. Confirm how it handles product questions, lead qualification, human handoff, meeting booking, account context, reporting and any custom API dependencies you rely on.

Features and workflow fit

Website engagement

Drift's legacy model used chat widgets and playbooks triggered by visitor context or page conditions. 1mind's current positioning is an AI sales-agent experience. Ask the vendor to show the specific page-level triggers, targeting rules, and human handoff that your team needs. A broad claim about AI conversation quality does not answer how a particular page or account will be handled.

Lead qualification and routing

Both the old Drift use case and the 1mind successor path relate to moving a buyer from engagement to sales action. The important test is whether qualification fields, account ownership, calendar availability, and CRM updates match your process. Use real but approved test scenarios and compare the resulting records, not only the chat transcript.

Account-based marketing

If Drift helped identify target accounts or personalize a visit, write down the segments, data sources and rules that powered that experience. Ask 1mind to confirm which of those signals it can use and which require Salesloft, Clari or another connected system. Do not assume a similar product category means the same account data is available.

Reporting and attribution

Existing Drift reports may define sourced and influenced opportunities in a way that your team has used for pipeline reviews. Export the reports you need and document the filters and definitions. Ask the new vendor to explain how its engagement events reach your CRM and revenue reports. Treat the old and new metrics as separate until you can reconcile them with a sample.

Ease of setup and team adoption

Drift users may already have years of playbooks, targeting conditions and routing rules. A replacement should be judged by how clearly the team can rebuild those paths and how easy it is to test them before launch. Ask for a guided proof of concept using your most common visitor scenarios, not only a polished demo. Confirm who will configure the new widget, train sales representatives and support the cutover.

1mind's AI-agent approach may change how the team writes qualification prompts and hands conversations to people. That can be useful, but it means the migration plan should document both the old rule and the intended new behavior. Keep a checklist of the result each workflow must produce.

Integrations and support

Inventory Salesforce or other CRM connections, calendars, web forms, email routing, reporting exports and any custom Drift API calls. The official sunset FAQ says custom integrations built on the Drift API stop after January 31, 2027. Ask 1mind which systems it connects to, which data can be carried across, and which parts need a separate integration or rebuild.

Public pages do not guarantee identical onboarding or support terms for every contract. Ask the provider to state the migration scope, support contact, response commitments, data handling and export options in writing. Keep an owner for each integration until the replacement has been checked end to end.

Pricing and contract considerations

Salesloft does not publish a current Drift price on its current Chat Agents page, checked October 30, 2026. The page says the company has transitioned from Drift to 1mind. The official 1mind site, checked the same day, does not list a standard public price either. Existing Drift customers should use the signed agreement and ask the account team to confirm billing. The official FAQ says contracts ending before January 31, 2027 are honored with no billing changes; contracts extending beyond that date are handled case by case.

For 1mind, request a written quote that states the included agent capabilities, expected web traffic, usage assumptions, integrations, onboarding, support, contract length and renewal terms. If you are comparing alternatives, the Drift pricing guide explains the current public pricing gap and links to official price pages for other products. Compare the total cost for the same workflow and volume rather than an old Drift price against a new quote.

The sunset deadline and data migration

The official Drift Sunset FAQ, checked October 30, 2026, says Drift will be retired on January 31, 2027. Your access can end sooner if your current contract ends first. The website chat widget, Drift Email and custom integrations built on the Drift API stop after retirement. For contracts that extend beyond January 31, data remains offline through April 30, 2027 for export requests, and remaining data is scheduled for permanent deletion on May 1, 2027.

The separate official restoration guide, checked October 30, 2026, says Drift became accessible again but some functions remain limited. Playbooks and the widget are initially turned off, integrations are being restored in phases, Drift Email is not live, and some report exports remain unavailable. Confirm the current state of your account before relying on an old workflow or assuming every feature is restored.

  1. Confirm the end date and data-access deadline for your account in writing.
  2. Ask Salesloft for the available export types and the request process.
  3. Save contacts, reports and conversation records that your team needs, and verify sample counts and fields.
  4. Inventory active playbooks, routing rules, CRM mappings, calendars, Drift Email and custom API calls.
  5. Build the replacement workflow and test qualification, routing, meeting booking and handoff.
  6. Run a controlled cutover before the earlier of your contract end date or January 31, 2027.

Salesloft's sunset FAQ recommends 1mind for chatbot functionality and allGood for Drift Email. That recommendation does not confirm that every record or configuration migrates automatically. Get the scope in writing from the relevant providers.

Which option should you choose?

Evaluate 1mind first when

  • You want to follow the named successor path recommended by Clari + Salesloft.
  • Your use case is sales-led website engagement and buyer qualification, not only a shared support inbox.
  • You are willing to review a demo and quote for an AI sales-agent platform.
  • Your team can map existing Drift workflows and test the new process before cutover.

Compare other alternatives when

  • You mainly need a simple live chat widget and human inbox.
  • Your top requirement is form routing and meeting scheduling rather than a full AI agent.
  • You already use HubSpot or another customer platform and prefer to keep chat inside it.
  • You need published entry pricing and self-serve access before you can evaluate a tool.

Use the Drift alternatives guide to compare 1mind with Qualified, HubSpot, Chili Piper, Intercom, Tidio and Crisp by workflow and price visibility.

Choose Drift for a short transition only when

  • Your existing contract and account access still allow the workflow to run.
  • The team needs a short window to test the replacement without changing a live campaign immediately.
  • You have already started export and migration planning.

Choose 1mind when

  • You want to evaluate the named AI sales-agent successor for buyer engagement.
  • Your team needs AI-led qualification and can review a demo and quote.
  • You are ready to map CRM, reporting and routing needs rather than assume automatic feature parity.

If neither choice fits, compare the alternatives by the task Drift performed rather than by brand alone.
